UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Keep container tightly closed. Isolate from heat, pilot lights, electrical equipment, sparks, and open flame. SPECIAL FIREFIGHTING PROCEDURES: Containers exposed to intense heat, should be cooled with water to prevent vapor pressure build-up, which could result in container rupture. |
SECTION V - HEALTH HAZARD DATA EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: Vapor and liquid are eye and skin irritants. Breathing excessive quantities of vapor may cause dizziness, headaches, nausea, and other central nervous effects including death. Prolonged and repeated inhalation of vapors may cause kidney or liver damage. Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. MEDICAL CONDITIONS PRONE TO AGGRAVATION BY EXPOSURE: Those having respiratory or heart conditions should exercise due caution using this product. Skin contact may aggravate an existing dermatitis. PRIMARY ROUTE ( S ) OF ENTRY: X DERMAL X INHALATION INGESTION EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES: Remove victim to fresh air and restore breathing if necessary. Get emergency assistance immediately. For eye contact, flush immediately with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Take to physician for medical treatment. For skin contact: Wash affected areas with soap and water. Remove and launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Consult a physician if irritation persists. |
SECTION VI - REACTIVITY DATA STABILITY: ____ UNSTABLE X STABLE HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: _____ MAY OCCUR X WILL NOT OCCUR HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Hydrogen chloride, Chlorine, Phosgene and other organic compounds may be formed during combustion. CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Heat, sparks, pilot lights, static electricity and flame. Do not use in confined spaces. INCOMPATIBILITY ( MATERIALS TO AVOID ): Strong oxidizing agents. |
SECTION VII - SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED: Keep all sources of ignition and hot surfaces away from spill. For small spill flush with water. For large spill, use sand, earth, or other suitable absorbent material. If spill is indoors, open all windows and doors, ventilate area of spill. Report spill to appropriate Federal, State, or local authorities and request assistance if needed. Before attempting to clean up refer to hazard information in other sections of this data sheet. WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD: Seal in closed metal container and dispose of in accordance with local, State and Federal regulations. |
SECTION VIII - SAFE HANDLING AND USE INFORMATION RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator for solvent vapors. VENTILATION: If current ventilation practices are not adequate to maintain vapor concentrations below established exposure limits, additional local exhaust ventilation capable of maintaining vapor levels below the recommended exposure limits may be required. Use explosion-proof, non-sparking equipment. PROTECTIVE GLOVES: Solvent resistant EYE PROTECTION: Safety goggles or glasses with side shields. OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Use solvent resistant apron or impervious clothing for repeated and prolonged use of product. HYGIENIC PRACTICES: Wash hands before eating or using restroom. |
SECTION IX - SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORING: Store in cool dry place with container properly sealed. OTHER PRECAUTIONS: Do not mix with other materials, other than as recommended in label instructions. Store in cool dry place with container sealed. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
